Today’s post is the TBR Alphabet tag, which I kind of made up myself but has probably also been done before. I also just can’t get over the fact when you say ‘to-be-read, al-pha-bet’ out loud, it kind of sounds like it rhymes (is that just me being weird….? Probably.)
I thought it would be fun to see how many books I can fill in for this.
- Name a book title from your TBR for every letter of the alphabet (can exclude words like ‘the’ if needs be) – these must be books that you have physical/e-book copies of and not ones you intend on getting but haven’t yet.
- Try and include different authors for every single one
- At the bottom of your list put how many you could fill in (out of 25)
- Tag other people to join in and link back to the person who tagged you!
So, without further ado, here is my TBR alphabet:
A is for… After Me Comes the Flood by Sarah Perry
B is for… Beauty in the Breakdown by Tegan Anderson
C is for… Contagion by Terri Terry
D is for… Did you see Melody? by Sophie Hannah
E is for… Eliza and her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
F is for… Fifty Fifty by James Patterson
G is for… Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
H is for… Hydra by Matt Wesolowski
I is for… Ink by Alice Broadway
J is for…
Am I allowed to say just any Jane Austen book? I don’t have any title beginning with a J on my TBR.
K is for… (The) Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
L is for…
I found it really depressing I couldn’t find one beginning with L in my pile.
M is for… (13) Minutes by Sarah Pinborough
N is for… .
…unfortunately ‘Nooooo, I don’t have one starting with N’.
O is for… (The) Opposite of Loneliness by Marina Keegan
P is for… Point Blanc by Anthony Horowitz
Q is for…
My TBR let me down again.
R is for… (99) Red Balloons by Elisabeth Carpenter
S is for… Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
T is for… Thirteen by Tom Hoyle
U is for…
Ugh, I can’t fill this one in either. (p.s. If I’d bought Undead Girl Gang, I could have filled this one in but I haven’t quite yet…)
V is for… (The) Vanishing Season by Joanna Schaffhausen
W is for… Where the World Ends by Geraldine McCaughrean
X is for…
Never actually seen a book with a title beginning with X.
Y is for… Young, Gifted & Dead by Lucy Carver
Z is for…
Zzz, I hope you haven’t fallen asleep before the end of the post.
I found that quite frustrating. There are so many good books I could have put in to fill gaps but I either 1) don’t quite own it yet (so it isn’t in my physical tbr pile, just in my ‘to buy’ list.) or 2) Was by an author I had already put down for another book for a different letter. Buttttt, I got 19/25 which I don’t think is too bad (right?)!
- Audra @AudrasBookBlabbing
- Rain @Bookdragonism
- Leonie @SeekingBookWorm
- Tegan @TandeWrites
- And anyone else who thinks they would like a go!
Of course don’t feel obliged to do it but I would love to see how well you do! Or just tag some friends you think would like to have a go.
How many books do you think you could write down for this challenge? Have you read any of the books I mentioned?
Thanks for reading! Have a great day,
